  • Challenge

Streaming platforms offer convenience, affordability, and exclusive content, making traditional theaters less appealing. With studios releasing films online soon after (or with) their theatrical debut and advanced home tech offering cinematic experiences, theater attendance has declined. The lack of mid-budget films and overreliance on franchises has also reduced the variety of movies shown in theaters.

  • Insight

Cinema's magic is in its power to whisk us away, stir deep emotions, and bring us together. Sharing a movie isn't just entertainment—it’s a way to connect, belong, and create lasting memories.

about this project

Donnie Darko, La la Land, 500 Days of Summer, Scream 2---All of which are movies with iconic scenes in movie theaters.

Why do we bring this up? Because there is something cinematic about a movie theater itself.

This campaign positions movie theaters as offering a cool aesthetic that make you feel like you are in a movie, watching a movie.

Which movie, Went to the movies?- Extension

During commercial breaks on TV AMC would stream a trivia ad.

This ad would give a short period from the movie and encourage viewers to answer the question in a few seconds via QR code. The QR code brings them to the AMC app where they can answer the questions.

The first 20 people who can answer the question correctly will win free movie tickets to any AMC theater.
